Eddie Christopher and Brandon Allen received the 2015 Graduate Student Awards from the UTC Chapter of Sigma Xi.
Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society, is the international honor society of science and engineering. One of the oldest and largest scientific organizations in the world, Sigma Xi has a distinguished history of service to science and society for more than 125 years. Sigma Xi chapters can be found at colleges and universities, government laboratories, and industry research centers around the world.
Christopher was nominated by his thesis advisor, Dr. Jill Shelton in the Department of Psychology, for his thesis “Music Helps Me Do My Homework: A Student’s Conundrum.”
Allen was nominated by his thesis advisor, Dr. Mina Sartipi in Computer Science and Engineering, for his thesis “Mobile Motion Analysis of Post Stroke Patients.”
Members of The UTC Chapter of Sigma Xi work in Biological and Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, Communication, Computer Science and Engineering, Health and Human Performance, Mechanical Engineering, Physics/Geology/Astronomy, and Psychology.
