UTC Psychology graduate student Carrie Lawson has been chosen to serve as the 2015-2016 Student Representative for the Board of the Tennessee Association of School Psychologists (TASP).
Lawson, a second year student in the Ed.S Program in School Psychology in the College of Health, Education, and Professional Studies, will be responsible for communicating with school psychology students about current procedural and practice issues affecting advocacy and support for children and youth.
“Carrie is a great example of the type of School Psychology graduate students we have and the impact our students and program are making throughout the region,” said Dr. David Rausch, Interim Associate Provost for Assessment, Accreditation, and Student Outcomes.
TASP is the state’s professional organization working to empower school psychologists in the delivery of educational and mental health services for children and youth. Lawson’s responsibilities will include assisting with coordination of student events at the upcoming state conference and attending TASP Board meetings in Nashville.
