The UTC Career and Student Employment Center will host the Nonprofit Career Networking Event on Wednesday, April 6, from 2 – 4 P.M. in the UC Chattanooga Room, giving students a chance to network and find out more about local nonprofits.
“While our other career events are all about The Job, the Nonprofit Career and Networking Event is all about Our Community, the ways these organizations serve it, and the ways to be involved in that service,” said Donna Cooper, Interim Director of the Career and Student Employment Center. “Most organizations will have volunteer opportunities to supplement any student’s experience outside the classroom and their resume. Some will have internships and possible career opportunities for those who wish to make community service their career. All will have stories of giving back to the community in so many ways while acquiring invaluable skills.”
There will be over twenty five organizations at the event, the largest number in the past 8 years, including familiar nonprofits such as Chattanooga Goodwill Industries and Big Brothers Big Sisters. For a full list, click here.
“The event is growing, and so are our students’ interests. This will offer an amazing opportunity for students to talk with nonprofit organizations to find out more about the organizations and the opportunities they have to offer,” Cooper said.
The event is open to all academic levels, freshmen to graduate students, to our alumni, and to all majors.
