In honor of Women’s History Month, UTC Library and UTC Women’s Center is hosting local author Susan Gregg Gilmore for a presentation and book signing. The event will take place on Tuesday, March 29 with a reception of light refreshments at 5:30 P.M. and the presentation beginning at 6:00 P.M. in the Southern Writer’s Room, 4th floor of the Library.
Gilmore began her writing career in journalism and in 2008 published her debut novel, Looking for Salvation at the Dairy Queen, a USA Today bestseller and Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance (SIBA) 2009 Book Award Nominee.
Her subsequent publications, The Improper Life of Bezellia Grove and The Funeral Dress were both selected for TARGET’s Emerging Author Program among other recognitions.
In a blog post featured on her website, Gilmore said, “When I sat down to craft my first novel at 42, I never dreamed that eight years later, I would have completed my third. And I finished this one… much as I did the first–sad that it was done.”
