What: Steel heat treating: mathematical modelling and numerical simulation of an industrial problem, by Dr. Francisco Ortegón Gallego
Details: Presented by the Department of Mathematics and the SimCenter. Gallego, director and professor of Mathematics at Spain’s Universidad de Cádiz, addresses one of the main concerns in the automotive industry: the mathematical description and numerical simulation of the hardening procedure of a car steering rack. The seminar includes networking opportunities, light refreshments and a Q & A session.

What: Dr. Ginny Winston Tutton Flutist Guest Artist Recital
Details: UTC alumna Ginny Winston Tutton returns to campus. As a soloist, Ginny dazzles audiences with her warm, colorful tone, virtuosic technique, and expressive phrasing. She enjoys creating unique recitals that captivate audiences sometimes pairing music with artwork in images and sound, providing historical vignettes in Flute Music of the 1940s and British Flute Playing at the Turn of the Twentieth Century and mixing styles in A Flutist Learns Jazz.
