11 Hours of Remembrance Walk/Run
When: 6:00 a.m. – 5:00 a.m., Sept. 11
Where: UTC ROTC tent next to Starbucks
Details: UTC’s Army ROTC will remember and honor the victims and service members killed and injured, as well as those whose heroic actions prevented more deaths, during the terror attacks on September 11, 2001. Participants can carry an American flag or a flag of one of the U.S. Armed Services and take at least one lap around the field. Flags will be available to sign out at the UTC ROTC tent next to Starbucks, but you also may bring your own American or service flag.
Chancellor’s State of the University
When: 11:15 a.m., Sept. 13
Where: Oak Street, outside of the Guerry Center
Details: Chancellor Steve Angle will give his annual State of the University address. This event includes a rededication and self-guided tours of the newly-renovated Guerry Center.
UTC Constitution Day
When: 7:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m., Sept. 17
Where: UC 206 Auditorium
Admission: Free and open to the public.
Details: The Center for Reflective Citizenship welcomes Andrew Porwancher, who will be presenting on the challenges in America. Refreshments will be served.
Economics Distinguished Speaker Seminar
When: 12:45 p.m.- 3:30 p.m., Sept. 20
Where: UC 359 Ocoee Room
Details: The Economics Department welcomes Professor Joni Hersch, a distinguished researcher and the Co-Director of Vanderbilt’s PhD program in Law and Economics. Her research focuses on the influence of gender and race in labor market outcomes and higher education.
