Billionaire Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft, tweeted out praise for Le Andrea Ware, a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and the 2019-2020 state Principal of the Year.
“Dr. Le Andrea Ware is one of the most energetic school leaders I’ve ever met. Her positivity is infectious,” Gates tweeted. “It’s no wonder she was recently named the Tennessee principal of the year.”
Ware, who graduated from UTC in 1995, has been principal of Howard School for a year. In the 2018-2019 academic year, she was chosen as Hamilton County Schools Principal of the Year.
In recent years, the Gates Foundation has given more than $750,000 to education programs in the Chattanooga area.
