The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is spreading a little cheer to military-connected students this holiday season.
On Thursday, Dec. 17, veteran students and families were given packages packed with school supplies, personal and self-care items and some non-perishable groceries.
UTC Veteran Student Services, Scrappy’s Cupboard, Counseling Center and Infinite Warrior Foundation teamed up to provide the packages. Some of the items given to students are usually available on campus, free-of-charge in the veteran student lounge, but it was temporarily closed during fall semester to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
“COVID-19 has presented many challenges for our students, and we want to be a resource in bridging the gap,” explained Veteran Student Services Assistant Director Squoia Holmes.
“We hope this small gesture makes the hectic holiday season and 2020 just a little brighter for our military affiliated students.”
