Starting Monday, April 6, I Love UTC Week returns to celebrate the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and its students, faculty and staff.
Laura Snyder, director of stewardship and donor events in the Division of Advancement, has worked on the event since its inception over a decade ago and “loves” celebrating this time of year.
“I think of it as a mini homecoming in the spring,” Snyder said. “It’s a time to celebrate the things that make our campus special. Shout out to our faculty, students and alumni who have stories here and have found their community and home here.”
The week is full of activities and events, from scavenger hunts to window painting. The event also includes week-long activities such as Teachers Love UTC, the Scrappy’s Cupboard Food Drive and the Student Program Survey.
Teachers Love UTC offers the chance to win a swag bag by tagging @UTChattanoogaAlumni to show off UTC pride. Scrappy’s Cupboard Food Drive locations can be found in the Chancellor’s Office, University Center Room 278, Lupton Hall 104 and UTC Library Main Info Desk. The Student Program Survey gives students a chance to help the Center for Student Leadership, Engagement and Community identify ways to improve campus life.
“Stop by on your way to class, write a thank you note for a donor and get a cookie,” Snyder said. “It’s not a major commitment to engage and it’s fun. It’s a cool part of what makes this campus special.”
