It was a week of blue and gold fun! Organized by several student organizations, the second annual ‘I love UTC’ week featured a pep rally, door decorating contest, intramural basketball games, and more school-spirited activities. The organizations who helped with the planning of events include Campus Activities Board, Residence Hall Association, Student Government Association, Student Veteran’s Organization, Student Alumni Council, Future Alumni Members, Student Foundation, Lambda Chi Alpha, and Campus Recreation Intramurals.
The kick-off pep rally featured music and performances from Mocs band and spirit squads, autographs from Mocs athletes, and a photo booth for students. This event was sponsored by the Student Alumni Council.

The Grinch, the Cat in the Hat, and the Wicked Witch of the West were just a few of the characters that showed up at this year’s Greek Show. Some of UTC’s fraternities and sororities competed in a night full of fun, creative performances. First place for sororities was awarded to Chi Omega, second to Alpha Delta Pi, and third to Gamma Phi Beta. First place for fraternities was awarded to Sigma Chi, second to Lambda Chi Alpha, and third to Pi Kappa Alpha. All of the proceeds from this event were donated, raising more than $11,000 for T.C. How quick could you eat six Krystals? A group of students found out by competing in the “Krystal Square-Off for Squares” eating competition The competition also served as a food drive for the Chattanooga Food Bank. The event was organized by Future Alumni Members, Student Veterans Organization, Lambda Chi Alpha, and the Student Alumni Council.

The University partnered with Blood Assurance to host “Bloodanooga,” a blood donation drive at the University Center. More than a 100 students, faculty, and staff donated during Bloodanooga. The event also allowed participants to sign up for the “Get in the Game, Save a Life” Be the Match registry. Partnered with The Andy Talley Bone Marrow Foundation, the Be the Match registry is the world’s largest hematopoietic cell registry that pairs stem cell donors with patients suffering from blood cancers.
