In honor of William Shakespeare’s 450th birthday, the UTC Special Collections and University Archives will be displaying some of its items related to the playwright.
The exhibit includes rare items like two plays printed from the Second Folio, a printed collection of Shakespeare’s work. The Second Folio, published in 1632, included nearly 1,700 changes from the First Folio.
“The paper is still in really good shape. Back then, it was made out of rags and holds up really well,” Cox said.
Other items on display include illustrated scenes from Shakespeare’s plays, portraits by alumnus and well-known artist Barry Moser, and memorabilia from various UTC theatre productions of Shakespeare’s work.
This exhibit will run the remainder of this semester and can be viewed in the Special Collections and University Archives on the 2nd floor of Lupton Library Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. For more information please call 423-425-2186.
