U.S. News and World Report included UTC as one of the top 10 Online Engineering Schools with the Most International Students.
According to Dr. Neslihan Alp, Interim Dean of the UTC College of Engineering and Computer Science, many of the international students are enrolled in the Online Engineering Management master’s program.
Alp herself has visited India three times to represent UTC and recruit students. Besides India, international students from Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Iran, Turkey, Nepal, Indonesia, Malaysia, China, Germany, and Spain are enrolled in online engineering programs.
“Recruitment trips, grants, international faculty members’ personal connections abroad, and our online offerings in Engineering Management and Computer Science and Electrical Engineering have helped UTC to attract and recruit many international students into our graduate programs in the College of Engineering and Computer Science,” Alp said.
Of the graduate students enrolled in the College of Engineering and Computer Science, 18 percent are international students.
UTC tied with University of Florida for 7th place in the top ten U.S. News and World Report list.
“In 2013, international students made up about seven percent of the 12,870 students who pursued online engineering degrees at the master’s programs ranked by U.S. News,” according to the U.S. News and World Report website.
