“Now what?” is the topic of the first TEDxUTChattanooga meeting on Saturday, October 25, 2014, to be held on the UTC campus. The entire campus and community can become involved in this independently organized and officially licensed event based on TED, Technology, Entertainment, Design conferences. Nominate a speaker or nominate yourself to speak, attend the event, sponsor the event, or volunteer at the event.
The deadline to nominate a speaker is July 25. Speakers should be nominated via the website at http://tedxutchattanooga.com; an email with details regarding additional required materials will be sent directly to the nominees. A student committee, in conjunction with the larger planning committee, will select all the speakers for this year’s event.
Successful speakers have a great story to tell or a great idea to share. All talks are limited to 18 minutes, and are typically even better at 12-15 minutes. You can also self-nominate to be a speaker.
Dr. Linda Frost, Dean of the UTC Honors College, and Dr. David Levine, Professor and Walter M. Cline Chair of Excellence in Physical Therapy, serve as co-chairs of TEDxUTChattanooga.
“This is a great way to bring the campus and community together to share ideas about the future of the city, the region, and the University,” said Frost.
