Chemistry and Biophysics major Patrick O’Brien names his “milestone moment” at UTC as the summer he spent working as a full-time researcher in the Chemistry department’s undergraduate research program with Dr. Steven Symes.
O’Brien and Symes worked with local company eSpin to figure out a method for the release of antibiotics into the body through a biodegradable device designed to wrap around bone fractures.
“If Chemistry interests you it’s a great way to get your hands dirty and do some lab work and work with professors,” O’Brien explains.
