Communications major Lily Sanchez created and is now the editor of the Spanish section for student-run campus newspaper, The University Echo.
She names the University’s location, Chattanooga, as being one of her favorite things about UTC because of the diverse opportunities just a few steps away. “If you’re looking for a place that you can dip your feet into a lot of things, UTC is the place to come.”
Sanchez continues, “To freshmen interested in the field of communication I would say: take as many opportunities that are given to you. I think that you can never do too much within the school. And Chattanooga is such a great place to foster the idea of communication. You’re never not going to have a chance to use what you learn in school.”
Sanchez loves her chosen field of communication because of the freedom it offers. You can be unique and awkward. You can be you.
