This spring, get ready for Spring Career Days, allowing students and alumni to pursue TWO days full of opportunities. Day one will feature STEM positions, while day two will cover business, retail, government and other positions.
“Our event has outgrown the one day table allotment for the University Center. Adding a second day also allows us to designate types of employment and internship positions to particular days,” said Donna Cooper, Interim Director of the UTC Career & Student Employment Center.
Representatives will be available to talk with students of all ages and majors about opportunities for career entry level positions, internships, summer and part-time positions, and graduate school. The event will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, February 1 – 2, 10 A.M. – 2 P.M. in the Maclellan Gym.
“This event is for all UTC students and UTC alumni. For the Freshman, it is an opportunity to speak with multiple recruiters and to begin a networking relationship. For the Sophomore, it is an opportunity to speak with recruiters regarding future internships and ways to build a resume before applying. For the Junior, it is an opportunity to claim a place in the competition for internships. For the Senior, it is the opportunity to face the World of Work with confidence. For the Graduate Student and the Alumnus, it is the opportunity to advance a career or begin a new one,” said Cooper.
It’s never too early to start preparing, and the UTC Career & Student Employment Center is offering a number of events to help you on your way. Perfect your job pitch and make sure your resume is in tip top shape before you go out to meet potential employers. The Career and Student Employment Center offers a variety of services throughout the year, such as resume help, mock interviews, and job postings. Explore their resources here.
