This event, explained SimCenter Director Anthony Skjellum, is part of a larger initiative of “knowledge sharing” as the SimCenter works to engage with Chattanooga and the international tech community to share ideas and initiate conversations about high end computing, big data, Internet of Things (IoT: the giant network of things and people connected with the internet), and machine learning.
“We are working to build a community of collaborators and scholars around SimCenter who engage in studies and build practical applications for today’s smart cities, data science applications, and for all types of modeling and simulation that benefit society,” Skjellum said.
Topics include IBM Quantum Computing and University Alliance Partnerships, IBM Point of View on Data Centric Computing and Introduction to the Internet of Weather things.
“All research computing centers, like SimCenter, work to engage with first movers like IBM in science and technology,” Skjellum added. “This kind of technology interchange helps universities.”
