Senior BFA Thesis Exhibition: Show One

John Mabry with Addiction Campuses to speak on addiction

Details: John Mabry speaks about his personal history with addiction and theories about addiction.
Public Service Careers Event
When: 2-4 p.m., Thursday, April 4
Where: Tennessee Room, University Center
Admission: Free for students and alumni; Employers must register and pay registration fee through Handshake.
Details: The Public Service Careers Event allows employers to connect with all UTC students and alumni to discuss internship and career opportunities in government and nonprofit sectors.

Meacham Writers’ Workshop
When: Thursday, April 4 – Saturday, April 6
Where: Chattanooga State and UTC University Center
Admission: Free and open to the public
Details: The Meacham Writers’ Workshop is supported primarily by an endowment funded by the late Jean Meacham in honor of her husband, Ellis K. Meacham. Occurring each fall and spring, the workshop is free and open to the public; there is no registration. The program consists of readings, discussion sessions, and group conferences.

Details: UTC’s popular reading series returns with an insightful and entertaining discussion of FRONTIERS. Take Five is sponsored by the George C. Connor Professorship in American Literature, the Connor Society, and the UTC Department of English.

Admission: Free and open to the public
Details: Held each spring, ReSEARCH Dialogues is the largest academic conference on the UTC campus. The event showcases the scholarship and creative endeavors of more than 600 UTC faculty, graduate students, undergraduate students, and staff from all campus programs and disciplines.

UTC Theatre Company presents CATS
When: 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 9 – Saturday, April 13;
Where: UTC Chamberlain Pavilion and Field
Admission: Limited stage-adjacent reserved tickets are $20, otherwise admission is free to the public. Blankets and chairs are welcome, but alcohol is not permitted.
Details: UTC Theatre Co. partners with Chattanooga Ballet to present the world-famous musical CATS by Andrew Lloyd Webber, based on “Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats” by T.S. Eliot.

Chattanooga Singers and UTC Chamber Singers Concert
When: 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 16
Where: Second Presbyterian Church, 700 Pine Street
Admission: Free and open to the public
Details: The Chattanooga Singers will perform works by Schumann, Britten, Cox, and featuring two of Persichetti’s settings of the poetry of e. e. cummings and Hebrew settings by Goldfarb and Hirsch. They will end their part of the program with a Gospel setting of River in Judea. The Chamber Singers will perform a preview of pieces they will perform on their May tour of the Republic of Ireland. It will include works by Nystedt, Seamus de Barra, Will Todd, and American composers Bartholomew, Hogan and our own Roland Carter.
