Fall classes are officially over, but finals are here.
Where are you going to study?
If you need a quiet place to hit the books, unwind or grab a snack, head to the Study Hub.
Located in Stacy Town Center at 815 University St., it will be open 24/7 through Dec. 7, the last day of exams.
Sitting next to the P.O.D. Market and Subway, the two-room Study Hub has a “quiet room” with tables, chairs, plenty of plug-ins for laptops as well as lots of natural lighting during the day. The second room is stocked with snacks and puzzles for taking a break between power studying.
“Students can struggle with finding space in their apartments or rooms to study or sometimes they just want to get out of the same-old setting, so this gives them another option,” said Madeleine Bordelon, assistant director of guest relations.
Campus security officers will be on duty overnight at the Study Hub throughout the seven days it is open, Bordelon said.
The UTC Library has extended its hours during finals week and will be open from 7:30 a.m. until 2 a.m. to give students extra time and space to study.
In Stacy Town Center, the P.O.D. Market and the offices for Decosimo Apartments are staying put in Stacy Town Center, named in honor of former Chancellor Bill Stacy.
Plans to transform the old offices into student-centered space are scheduled to take place next year. The redesign will be led by students from the interior design program.
