Beginning next fall, UTC’s School of Nursing will begin accepting students into the nursing major as freshman. The School of Nursing has scheduled an open information on the Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) program for Thursday, March 31 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the UTC Metropolitan Building, room 231. The information session will include a question-and-answer session with nursing faculty, staff and a tour the nursing building and learning resource center. High school, transfer and current UTC students and parents are welcome to attend.
Students will have the opportunity to apply to the School of Nursing BSN program during their senior year of high school. In addition to submitting a formal application to UTC, students desiring admission to the BSN nursing major as a freshman must submit a complete written application on forms available on the School of Nursing website by May 1 of their high school senior year.
Selection of applicants to the School of Nursing is competitive. Applicants will be reviewed based on their high school GPA, ACT or SAT score, reflective essay, and recommendation letters. Freshman students to the nursing major will follow a set plan of study and maintain the Freshman Admission progression criteria.
