Dr. Robert S. Dooley will become the new dean of The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga College of Business on July 1, 2011. Dooley currently serves as Associate Dean for Graduate Programs and Research in the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University.
“We want to welcome home Dr. Dooley, an accomplished alumnus of The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga,” said Chancellor Roger Brown. “He has a great vision for the UTC College of Business, already one of the strongest programs on campus.”
Dr. Richard Casavant retired after serving as dean of the UTC College of Business since 2000.
Among his current duties, Dooley oversees administrative and budget responsibilities for six master’s programs and Ph.D. programs in economics and business administration at Oklahoma State.
Dooley earned both the B.A. in religion/philosophy and the M.B.A. with a concentration in finance from UTC. He received the Ph.D. in business administration with a concentration in strategic management from UT Knoxville.
In 1996, Dooley became an assistant professor in the Oklahoma State University Department of Management. He became an associate professor in the department in 2001 and he currently holds the Stinchcomb Family Professorship.
He has been published in the Journal of Business Research, International Journal of Conflict Management and the International Journal of Organizational Analysis.
Dooley was honored with the Spears School of Business Outstanding Graduate Faculty Award at Oklahoma State. He is a member of the Academy of Management and the Strategic Management Society.
He served on the Editorial Board for Corporate Governance: An International Review, 2008-2010 and International Journal of Organizational Analysis, 2005-2009.
