As fall football season fast approaches, keeping children safe on the field is a top priority for many parents. Thanks to students in the UTC Department of Health and Human Performance, parents can breathe a little easier during games. Students are volunteering to outfit children in properly fitted sports gear.
On Saturday, July 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., students will be on hand at Academy Sports to properly fit children for helmets, shoulder pads, chinstraps, hip pads, mouth guards, and cleats. Improperly fitting or improperly worn football equipment can increase the chance of serious injury.
Academy Sports has two locations in Chattanooga located on Highway 153 and Gunbarrel Road.
