A native of Athens, Tennessee, Fuller graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 1975 with a B.A. degree in Finance and Business Administration.
With more than 30 years of experience in the transportation industry, he is widely respected as a true innovator. Following more than 10 years in various executive leadership positions with Southwest Equipment Rental, Inc., Fuller and Patrick E. Quinn formed U.S. Xpress, Inc. in 1985.
Through their leadership and experience, U.S. Xpress is recognized as a service, safety and technology leader in the trucking industry, earning an award for innovation from the Smithsonian Institute in 2000. U.S. Xpress is the second largest privately owned truckload carrier in the United States, with more than 8,500 tractors and 22,000 trailers.
Since 2004, U.S. Xpress has achieved $1 billion in annual revenue. In 2007, U.S. Xpress was named by Forbes magazine to its Platinum List as one of America’s 400 Best Big Companies.
Fuller is a past member of the Chancellor’s Round Table at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the University of Chattanooga Foundation. Fuller and his wife, Janice, reside in Chattanooga, Tennessee. They have three children and two grandchildren.
