A campus scavenger hunt, rain barrel workshop, and vendor fair were just a few events planned to celebrate Earth Week at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
Students enjoyed a vendor fair with local organizations participating, including BikeShare Chattanooga, the Tennessee Aquarium, Crabtree Farms, and Outdoor Chattanooga.
Jim Pfitzer, a local scholar of Aldo Leopold, performed his one-man play, “Aldo Leopold: A Standard for Change,” which provided a formal, thoughtful venue for students and the community to learn about the ongoing historical elements of conservation and environmentalism, while promoting an understanding of future impacts.
UTC faculty and staff participated in a workshop to make and decorate rain barrels. A rain barrel is a way to capture rain and storm water runoff from a roof to be stored and used for such things as the irrigation of a garden or lawn.
