Tom Hoover, UTC Associate Vice Chancellor and Chief Information Officer, was selected for the advisory board of Campus Technology, the nation’s leading magazine covering technology in higher education.
Hoover will assist the magazine in its transition from print to a digital delivery.
Hoover was appointed as the Associate Vice Chancellor and Chief Information Officer in January 2012. Prior to his appointment, he served as the Director of Instructional Technology Support at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California.
Hoover is the university’s highest-ranking technology executive. He is responsible for helping to create and for helping implement the technology vision at UTC. He brings over 12 years higher education experience to the Information Technology department at UTC.
“UTC is fortunate to have recruited an IT professional and CIO with the experience and innovative strategies that Tom Hoover brings to the University. He is highly collaborative and customer friendly,” Richard Brown, UTC Executive Vice Chancellor for Finance, Operations, and Information Technology, said.
“Tom has accomplished much during his first year at the leadership helm of our IT Services Division. He has effectively provided synergistic organizational alignment of the very complex IT functions across the campus. Tom has also completed several initiatives and performance metrics set forth under our IT Master Plan. Significant enhancements in IT infrastructure, increased bandwidth, increased wireless access and functional reliability of IT systems have been realized,” Brown continued.
