UTC alumnus Tom Losh ’71 ’74 will be the next president of The University of Tennessee Alumni Association (UTAA). The association represents more than 335,000 alumni.
“To be honest, I’m still coming to grips with it, but to sum it up, I’m honored and excited to become the next president of UTAA,” Losh said.
Losh has a long history of involvement with the University. He is the past president of the UTC Alumni Board, and a member of the UC Foundation.
“I’m thrilled to represent the University of Tennessee and its alumni across the state and the world,” he said.
Calling his time at the University one of his greatest memories, Losh graduated with an undergraduate degree in secondary education and a graduate degree in school leadership.
“When I first arrived at UTC, it was a small liberal arts college that sat on a hill. The University has grown so much since then, and keeps getting better. I’m excited to see where the future takes us,” he said.
Losh has also worked at the University as a basketball and baseball coach, and assistant dean of student affairs. After years of working in education, he retired as principal of Bradley Central High School five years ago.
“Without a doubt, UTC has changed my life for the better,” Losh said. “If it wasn’t for UTC and the relationships and friendships I’ve made here, my life would be very different. Everything I do is tied back to the University. I’m blue and gold all the way.”
