A victory was “made in Chattanooga” for Homecoming when the Mocs beat Furman 31 to 9 at Finley Stadium. For notes on the game, visit the UTC Athletics website here. In addition to football, Homecoming 2013 had plenty of fun events for students, alumni, and the community.
To begin the week, student organizations painted banners to hang from the University Center. Inspired by the theme “Made in Chattanooga,” the banners featured images of iconic area landmarks and locally manufactured products.
Students and the campus community came together for the kick-off pep rally in Heritage Plaza. The event included music from the UTC band, cheers from the UTC spirit squads, and appearances from City of Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke, Hamilton County Mayor Jim Coppinger, UTC Chancellor Dr. Steve Angle, UTC Athletics Director David Blackburn, and Mocs Football Coach Russ Huesman.
