The new leaders of the UTC Student Government have big plans for the organization, starting with emphasizing communication and campus involvement. Shalin Shah, Bradley Bell, and Emily Neutens were recently elected by their peers and will serve for the 2011-2012 school year.
UTC Theatre and Speech Department receives national accreditation
After a rigorous evaluation process, UTC Theatre and Speech Department has received an associate members accreditation from the National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST).

Dr. Benjamin Gross celebrated the renovation of Grote Hall and the 125th anniversary of the University by providing a pictorial history presentation at the 23rd Annual Department of Chemistry Awards Banquet. “Chemistry is part of that history,” Gross said. “There is much to celebrate in our heritage and performance.”

Grote Scholar Tyson Ward plans to return to campus as a junior in fall 2011 after recovering from a horrific boating accident that occurred nearly a year ago.
Update: UTC celebrates faculty, student research
Dozens of faculty and students presented original research at the third annual UTC Research Celebration. Faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students presented research from a variety of fields, including athletic training, nursing, psychology, and education at the all-day celebration in the UTC University Center.

Mocs inducted into UTC Athletics Hall of Fame
Former UTC athletes were inducted into the UTC Athletics Hall of Fame this year. The five-member group included Cos DeMatteo (football), Jennifer Wilson Galloway (women’s basketball), Jason Ontog (men’s tennis), Chris Sanders (football) and Stanford Strickland (men’s basketball).
