Ten Executive MBA (EMBA) students and College of Business faculty recently returned from a ten-day international business visit to Zurich, Switzerland and Milan, Italy. Students gained a global perspective on management, economics and trade during this international trip, the culmination of a 16-month intensive EMBA program.

SGA honors outstanding seniors
More than 70 students were honored at this year’s Outstanding Senior Awards Ceremony. The annual award ceremony recognizes students who have demonstrated the highest levels of academic achievement in their undergraduate degree programs.
Alternative Spring Break engages students
Nearly fifty UTC students participated in the first UTC Alternative Spring Break (ASB), engaging in activities to benefit residents in Chattanooga and Hamilton County.
Russian delegation visits campus, forms partnerships with faculty
A visit to the Tivoli Theatre or Coolidge Park in downtown Chattanooga couldn’t top a visit to UTC for a group of Russian professors and university administrators. The group visited UTC to learn about the American higher education system, but left pleasantly surprised by the friendliness and generosity of the faculty and staff.
Update: Guns on campus bill under study
A bill that would allow faculty and staff of Tennessee public colleges and universities to carry guns on campus was sent to a summer study committee by the House Judiciary Committee. The bill is likely to not come up for debate until next year.

As the spring 2011 semester winds down, multiple campus service are extending hours to meet student needs.

UTC opposes guns on campus bill
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga administration joins higher education leaders across the state in opposing a bill that would allow more people to carry guns on campus, contributing to unsafe conditions for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Update: Students participate in 24-hour on-campus CreateAthon
It took a few naps, dozens of donated cupcakes, and several impromptu dance breaks, but UTC students thrived in designing for 24 straight hours in the UTC on-campus CreateAthon.
