Department of Biological Sciences receives anteater specimen from Nashville Zoo
The UTC Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences has a new specimen to add to its collection in the UTC Natural History Museum. A six-foot-long, nearly 100-pound one. The department recently received a specimen of a giant anteater from the Nashville Zoo. The animal died of natural causes.
UTC observes Arbor Day, earns Tree Campus USA recognition

Mocs top 3.0 GPA for Spring 2014 semester
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Athletics Department hit a major benchmark for the first time following the 2014 spring semester. Glenn Draper Scholarship recipient named
Brianna Daugherty has been selected to receive the Glenn Draper Scholarship, awarded to a student who has completed two successive years in UTC Choral Activities and has demonstrated successful academic performance. The scholarship was established in 2002 by friends and colleagues of Glenn Draper—it is funded through a UC Foundation endowment.
ThinkAchieve project leads to departmental honors thesis
Hannah and Sophia Seage, twins who are both French majors and Education minors, didn’t know what they were getting into when they volunteered for the ThinkAchieve project to help teach French to children at Rivermont Elementary School in Hixson, TN in 2012. They thought that they would just go to classes and assist in French lessons, but the experience grew, eventually culminating in their Departmental Honors Theses.
