Disco tunes brought back memories at Maclellan Gym when faculty and staff enjoyed a back to school picnic planned by the Employee Relations Committee (ERC) and Exempt Staff Council (ESC) and hosted by the Chancellor’s Office.
Attendees enjoyed the lunch, and delicious desserts were entered into a Bake-Off contest. Pat Boyer took first place for the second year. Her entry was a beautiful and tasty Black Forrest Cake. Linda Rivers won the second place ribbon for her Cheese Stolen, and Deanna Cameron won third place with Brownie Cheese Cake. Proceeds from the desserts will benefit the Career Staff Development Fund.
ERC Chair Valerah Hodges discussed the UTC cookbook “Cooking by Degrees” which will be available soon at the UTC Bookstore. Hodges thanked April Cox, Graphic Design Manager, for her design work on the cookbook, and Julia Cronin for creating the title. Hodges said the proceeds of the cookbook will go into the Staff Development Fund for staff to use toward self improvement such as seminars, workshops, CPS materials, and more.
New students and current students will enjoy Welcome Week 2007, which begins August 17.
