The UTC Department of Music presents the second in a series of Faculty Concerts, Friday, September 28, at 8 p.m.
Baritone Ron Ulen and pianist Dr. Sin-Hsing Tsai will perform music by Alessandro Stradella, Alessandro Scarlatti, Gabriel Faure, Franz Schubert, Benjamin Britten, Hall Johnson, and the ultra-Romantic, (pre-atonal) Arnold Schoenberg.
Ulen has performed on the opera and concert stages of many major American and European cities, singing numerous leading roles in hundreds of productions, as well as being featured soloist in works such as “Carmina Burana,” Handel’s “Messiah,” and Beethoven’s 9th Symphony. Since joining our faculty last year, he has established himself as a popular studio teacher, and is building the Opera Theatre program at UTC.
Tsai has already become well-known to Chattanooga audiences for her expressive and consistently fine performances of a wide variety of music, both as soloist and as collaborator.
There is no admission charge and the event is open to the public.
