The Cress Gallery of Art announces the 2007 UTC Department of Art Biennial Faculty Exhibition, which is dedicated to the life and memory of UTC Professor of Art Stephen LeWinter (1948-2007) and will include a brief retrospective of LeWinter’s work.
Also participating in the 2007 UTC Biennial Faculty Exhibition are Professor Emeritus George Cress, Professors Alan White, Ron Buffington, and David Young, and Lecturer in Art Robert Cox (Painting, Drawing, and Foundation); Department of Art Head and Professor Matt Greenwell, and Instructor Leslie Jensen Inman (Graphic Design); Professor Maggie McMahon, Lecturer in Art Dan Bethune, and Instructor Steven Cheek (3-D Studio); Adjunct Professors Mark Bradley-Shoup, Brandon Buckner, Susan Seaton, and John Tallman (Foundation and General Education); Adjunct Professor Steven Roswell (Photography); and Adjunct Professor Juanita Tumelaire (Printmaking).
The exhibition features work in diverse media and style and reflects the scholarly content of a visual arts program, an initiative that combines the development and refinement of skills, technique, and process, and research and conceptual formulation involving both the visual arts and a range of other academic disciplines and cultural issues.
Visit the exhibition through October 17. Gallery hours are 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday and 9:30 a.m. – 7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. The Gallery is open for all Patten Series Performances.
Located in the UTC Fine Arts Center at the corner of Vine and Palmetto, the Cress Gallery is open to the public and admission is free. Visitors may obtain a parking pass at the Facilities Building on Palmetto Street and may park free in any campus lot after
5 p.m.
