WUTC-FM 88.1, licensed to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, set a record with more than $150,000 received in pledges for its spring campaign.
“Thank you to all our listeners who made it possible to continue to provide quality public radio,” said Dr. John McCormack, Station Manager.
People from Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, and North Carolina made gifts to the radio station, the Chattanooga area’s source for programs from National Public Radio, Public Radio International, and American Public Media. Besides locally produced programming, WUTC is the home of such favorites as “Morning Edition,” “All Things Considered,” “A Prairie Home Companion” and “Car Talk.”
Each weekday morning following Around & About, at approximately 10:15 a.m., WUTC presents a news roundup produced by the Chattanooga Times Free Press. Sean Phipps, the audio voice of the local newspaper, will provide highlights of stories of regional interest featured in the morning newspaper. Phipps worked for many years at WUTC as the local host of Morning Edition.
