The UTC Cress Gallery of Art presents two exhibitions of fresh, thoughtful, and relevant abstraction in its spaces for Spring 2009, paintings and drawings by Rob Nadeau (NYC); and paintings and project table by Jered Sprecher (UTKnoxville, TN).
Exhibition dates for Nadeau’s Primal Scene and Sprecher’s Drift will be Tuesday, February 10 – Tuesday March 17.
UTC John and Diane Marek Visiting Artist Series events will continue in February.
Both artists will be on campus and in the community February 09 – 12. These artists’ lectures will be followed by an opening reception Tuesday, February 10, 5:30 -7 p.m., room 356 UTC Fine Arts Center. Plan to attend additional presentations by Marek Artists, open to the public with no admission charge:

Portfolio Presentation: The Role of Drawing
In Gallery II of the Cress, 2008-09 UTC Department of Art Feinstein Scholarship Recipients Tara Harris, 4th year BFA Painting and Drawing (graphic animation and stills) and Heidi Vasterling, 3rd year BFA Painting and Drawing (paintings and work on paper) will be available for public viewing.
All exhibitions are supported by the “UTC Friends of the Gallery” contributor’s fund.
Gallery hours: 9:30am – 7:00 pm Monday – Friday
The Gallery will be open through intermission for all UTC Patten Series Performances; A special “sneak preview” will be offered for the Patten Series Monday, February 9, as the gallery doors open at 6:30 pm. through intermission.
The Cress Gallery is located in the lobby of the UTC Fine Arts Center (FAC) at the corner of Vine and Palmetto Streets. Admission to the Gallery and all events is free. Visitors to the Gallery may obtain a parking pass from the Facilities Building on Palmetto Street; parking is freely available in any University lot after 5 p.m.
