Clarinet Ensemble/Woodwind Quintet; Chamber Singers/Chattanooga Singers to perform
The Clarinet Ensemble and Woodwind Quintet, Nikolasa Tejero, Director, will perform Friday, December 3 at 6 p.m. in Cadek Recital Hall. Admission is free; no ticket required.
The UTC Chamber Singers and the Chattanooga Singers to perform
UTC Chamber Singers and Chattanooga Singers, both directed by Dr. Kevin Ford, will proudly present their Fall concert on Friday December 3, 7:30 p.m., at 2nd Presbyterian Church (700 Pine Street, Chattanooga, TN). The concert is free of charge and open to the public.
Ford, UTC Director of Choral Activities, will be assisted by graduate conducting students Gerald Peel and Justin Hipp. Graduate piano students Johan Sentana and Eshton Anderson will perform with the choruses as will violinists Melinda Grohman, Hiedi Hoffecker, violist Arminda Lord, and cellist Don Grohman. Soloists for the evening will be Taylar Stauss, Emily Eaton, Justin Hipp, Alec Oziminski, Laura Marshall, Kasey Toth and Timothy Sunday.
The Chattanooga Singers will perform music by Padre G. B. Martini, Ralph Johnson, Tennessee composer Dan Gawthrope. The Chamber Singers will be singing music by British composer William Byrd, Czech composer Zdeněk Lukáš, Hungarian composer György Deak‐Bárdos and American composers Steven Paulus, Charles Ives, Raymond Wise and Jack Halloran.
The UTC Chamber Singers consist of a small chorus of mixed voices that perform a variety of rigorous musical selections. Admission into this group is only available through audition. The Chattanooga Singers is a slightly larger auditioned group of mixed voices that has been around since 1969. They too perform a wide variety of music. Both groups have enjoyed performing locally, nationally, and internationally.
