Experiential learning increases student success
Eleven UTC students in the upper level cross-disciplinary course Tropical Island Ecology and Geology conducted research in San Salvador last summer, where they examined coral and algae living on natural reefs and compared them to those living on artificial reefs, such as sunken ships. Dr. Ann Holmes, Assistant Professor of Geology, and Dawn Ford, Adjunct Professor in Biological and Environmental Sciences, added a new layer of learning for these students by earning the designation of the pilot ThinkAchieve Experiential Learning class.
Former prime minister of Slovakia speaks on campus
When Iveta Radicova, former Prime Minister of Slovakia, first visited the United States in the ’90s, she caught a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty from the window of the airplane. “Instead of holding a flame, she should be holding a credit card. Because the entrance to the rights and freedoms, and the standard of living we enjoy primarily relies on credits,” she said.
Campus mourns passing of Interim Chancellor Bogue
Students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga mourn the passing of Dr. Grady Bogue Wednesday morning. Bogue served as interim chancellor of the UTC campus from September 2012 until July 2013.

Chamberlain Pavilion dedicated
Chamberlain Pavilion was dedicated on Saturday, October 12, with former athletes, cheerleaders, and the Chamberlain family in attendance. Reflecting the architecture of the former stadium, Chamberlain Pavilion stands as a beautiful new gateway to the new library.
Student team headed to national chemical car competition
For the second year in a row, the UTC student Chem-E Car team will compete on the national level. The team will travel to San Francisco, California for the competition sponsored by the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE).
UTC voted “Best of the Best”
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga was voted the Best Local University in the 2013 Chattanooga Times Free Press Best of the Best, Chattanooga’s Official People’s Choice Awards. This accolade joins several honors bestowed upon the campus recently.
Fall membership drive success for WUTC
