Dr. Kenyon Wilson, former Fulbright Scholar and Associate Professor of Low Brass and Music Theory, has won first place in one international and two national composer composition contests. Wilson has been with the UTC Department of Music faculty for more than a decade.
UTC Mock Trial team advances to Nationals for first time
The UTC Mock Trial team is on fire after winning five and tying one of their eight cases at American Mock Trial Association’s (AMTA) Regional Tournament this February. For the first time in their fifteen year history, the team has won a bid to nationals.

A real find: UTC scientist names beetle in honor of Darwin
Charles Darwin is not only known as the father of evolution, he also has a reputation as an excellent field biologist. On his voyage aboard the HMS Beagle from 1831-1836, he stopped along the coast of Argentina at Bahía Blanca, approximately 400 miles south of Buenos Aires. Among the many specimens he collected was a beetle that’s been lost for a long time, but was recently found by UTC Associate Professor Dr. Stylianos Chatzimanolis, who works in the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences
Dean of UTC College of Business receives honorary doctorate in Kenya
Nearly thirty years to the day after he received his first degree from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, UTC College of Business Dean Robert Dooley received an Honorary Doctorate of Science from Moi University in Eldoret, Kenya.
