University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Chancellor Steven Angle and Chattanooga State Community College President Flora Tydings signed a Dual Admissions Agreement between the two institutions on Wednesday, August 12, 2015.
The Dual Admission Agreement allows students to apply for admission simultaneously at both campuses while pursuing an associate’s degree at Chattanooga State. Participants will benefit from guaranteed admission to UTC upon earning an associate’s degree from Chattanooga State. Students can save money by enrolling in their first two years at lower community college tuition and fees.
“How do we focus on our students? That’s something that UTC shares with Chattanooga State, doing the very best job that we can with our students. This agreement will provide a very clear path, a very welcoming path, to Chattanooga State students to an affordable four-year degree,” said Angle.
“It is the logical thing to do for our students, for our community, and for this state. Students need to have options, and they need to be able to get the job of their dreams when they graduate from us,” added Tydings.
Both campuses will provide students with a more personalized level of advising because participants’ entire degree path will be available at the onset of their college careers.
Participants in the Dual Admissions program will receive a UTC student ID card and can take advantage of some campus services as well as attend UTC events for a nominal fee.

If the ID is needed for UTC Library, we have an agreement with TN Board of Regents that includes Chatt State:

I do not think UTC offers a student ID (MocsCard) for students who are not officially enrolled at the University. You should probably contact the Military Science Department for more information regarding the Ranger Training Company and its relationship to UTC enrollment, and the Admissions Department for information about dual enrollment.

In order to receive student services from UTC (e.g., Blackboard, ID), a student must be enrolled. Students may apply as a transient or audit student to UTC. If you have missed the application deadline for a normal term, a “quick admit” application is available.

My daughter is wanting to attend Chattanooga State to get her first two years of college cheaper. We live in west tn and was wondering if she would be able to stay at university campus if she was in the dual admissions program?

According to UTC Housing, only students who are accepted and enrolled in classes at UTC are eligible to live on campus. If a student will only be enrolled in Chattanooga State for the first two years, the student is not eligible for UTC Housing.
