Mary Jackson, founder of UTC’S School of Nursing, recently passed away. Jackson was a very successful and respected woman who had a full career before ever coming to UTC. During her lifetime Jackson worked in the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps and the Army Nurse Corps Reserve. She was also as an assistant professor at the University of Alabama. Jackson served as the Director of nursing at Erlanger, before finally working as a professor here at UTC from 1973 to 1994. To honor her memory, UTC’s School of Nursing has compiled a short video focusing on Jackson’s thoughts on nursing and the founding of the School of Nursing.
