Chattanooga residents have a new option to earn college degrees. Thanks to a new dual admission partnership, you can start by earning an associate’s degree at Chattanooga State Community College, and then finish at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a bachelor’s degree.
The partnership is being marked by a new level of cooperation between UTC and Chattanooga State with the launch of the first joint marketing program between the two campuses. The “Start Here, Finish Here” campaign promotes the dual admissions agreement between the two campuses and encourages students to earn an associate’s degree at Chattanooga State and then transfer and complete a bachelor’s degree at UTC.
“We are pleased to take our partnership to a new level with UTC,” said Dr. Flora Tydings, Chattanooga State President. “Launching this co-branding campaign with our higher education neighbor is an exciting win for our students and community as we look to expand the number of Tennessee residents with postsecondary credentials and provide affordable pathways.”
The Dual Admission Agreement allows students to apply for admission simultaneously at both campuses while pursuing an associate’s degree at Chattanooga State. Participants will benefit from guaranteed admission to UTC upon earning an associate’s degree from Chattanooga State. Students can save money by enrolling in their first two years at lower community college tuition and fees—or even free tuition with the Tennessee Promise.
“We are committed to serving our community by providing access to higher education opportunities. UTC and Chattanooga State want to do what is best for our students,” said Dr. Steve Angle, UTC Chancellor. “Our dual admissions partnership provides an affordable pathway to a four-year degree.”
Through the dual admissions program, both campuses provide students with a more personalized level of advising because participants’ entire degree path is available at the onset of their college careers. Participants in the Dual Admissions program will receive a UTC student ID card and for a nominal fee can take advantage of some campus services, such as the Aquatics and Recreation Center and the UTC Library, as well as attend UTC athletics and student events.
The marketing campaign includes outdoor, radio, and print advertising placements.
