Leadership is far more than just the ability to boss people around.
You can learn the skills to be an inspiring, effective leader at this year’s Gentlemen’s Leadership Institute. The event begins at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, and runs until 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19. It takes place at Camp Lookout on top of Lookout Mountain.
Gentlemen’s Leadership Institute combines large and small group sessions led by experts in the field who will explain such topics as core values in decision-making and the concepts of leadership; they also will recount personal experiences and challenges. Please note that a high-ropes course is part of the weekend.
The institute is free to enrolled UTC students who identify as male and are in good conduct and academic standing with University.
Participants must provide their own linens and toiletries, but meals and transportation are provided by the Office of the Dean of Students.
Applications are available under the “Forms” tab of the Office of the Dean of Students website and must be submitted by noon on Nov. 9 in order to be considered. Notifications and a list will on what to bring will be sent out by the end of the day on Friday, Nov. 10.
