UTC Executive Vice Chancellor Richard Brown was among 58 honorees at the opening reception for the “Living African American Legends” exhibit at the Bessie Smith Cultural Center. The exhibit features portraits and biographies of local African Americans who have made large contributions to the community. Roland Carter, former UTC Holmberg Professor of Music and who retired in 2013, also is among the honorees in the exhibit.
