Four from UTC took part in July 14’s Heroes Run, which honors the Fallen Five who were killed in a terrorist attack in Chattanooga in 2015. The UTC participants were Capt. Kevin Beavers, head of the Department of Military Science at UTC, student 2nd Lt. Robert Thompson, Staff Sgt. Courtland Leamon, the new Military Science instructor at UTC, and Cpl. Lacy Bobo from the UTC Police Department. The Fallen Five are: Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Randall Smith, Marine Staff Sgt. David Wyatt, Sgt. Carson Holmquist, Gunnery Sgt. Thomas Sullivan and Lance Cpl. Squire Wells.
