To honor those killed and injured on Sept. 11, 2001, and those whose heroic actions prevented more deaths, the UTC Army ROTC is conducting the “11 Hours of Remembrance,” Run/Walk around Chamberlain Field.
Starting at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11, and ending at 5 p.m., participants can carry an American flag or a flag of one of the U.S. Armed Services and take at least one lap around the field. You may walk or run and do so individually or as a group.
Flags will be available to sign out at the UTC ROTC tent next to Starbucks, but you also may bring your own American or service flag.
“The goal is to have at least one of the flags always circulating around Chamberlain Field,” says Capt. Kevin Beavers, head of the Department of Military Science.
