Want to help local students get better at math?
Math Blast Off gives you a chance. And don’t worry, you don’t have to teach math to help.
UTC’s GEAR UP is looking for volunteers for Math Blast Off, in which teachers will give math lessons to seventh- and eighth-graders from July 22 through Aug. 1. After classes are over for the day, volunteers will accompany the students on trips to such places as UTC’s Aquatic Recreation Center and the climbing wall at Coolidge Park.
The classes are held on the UTC campus from 11:45 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. each afternoon except weekends. Lunch is provided every day.
