Joel Wells has been named as the new registrar for UTC and will take the post on July 22.
Wells takes the position held by Sandy Zitkus, who retired from UTC after 42 years in the Records Office.
The registrar is in charge of a university’s Records Office, which maintains student academic records and handles student registration operations.
Wells most recently served as registrar at Sewanee: The University of the South. He also has worked as registrar at North Central College in Illinois and as associate registrar at both Sewanee and Covenant College.
He has a bachelor of arts from Covenant College and master’s of art from Wheaton College in intercultural studies.
