Dana Moody, graduate program director and professor in the Department of Interior Architecture and Design, has been selected as one of the winners of the Knoxville Photo juried exhibition, which features works from 46 artists throughout the region.
Moody’s photo, taken in Cuba and titled “Esperando un Futuro” (“Waiting for a Future”), won Best of Travel in the competition.
In the summer of 2017, Moody traveled to Havana, Cuba, to document efforts to restore the city’s crumbling buildings and other architecture. In March, 2018, her photos from the trip were featured in “Havana: Behind the Façade,” an exhibition at the Association for Visual Arts gallery on Frazier Avenue in the North Shore.
Moody’s award-winning photo will be part of an exhibition at the Arts and Culture Alliance’s Emporium Center in Knoxville through Friday, July 26. Most of the works are for sale.
The Emporium is located at 100 S. Gay St. in Knoxville. It is open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and admission is free. It’s phone number is (865) 523-7543.
