Violent storms and tornadoes overnight in Middle Tennessee caused widespread destruction and fatalities. In Cookeville, home of Tennessee Tech University, four people are confirmed dead and 52 injured. Across Tennessee, at least 19 people died.
The 52 injured in Cookeville are being treated by the local hospital, Cookeville Regional Medical Center, and its blood supply has been depleted. The hospital is among those supplied by Blood Assurance of Chattanooga and members of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga campus community, in addition to everyone in the surrounding community, are urged to donate blood to help save lives in Cookeville.
Blood Assurance is on campus through 6 p.m. today as a result of the previously-scheduled “Bloodanooga” blood drive set up in the University Center Tennessee Room.
If you are able to give blood, stop by the blood drive in the UTC University Center today and help save lives in Cookeville.
