Molly Epperson, a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, will be inducted into the American School Band Directors’ Association.
Epperson, who earned a bachelor’s in music education in 2005, is now band director at East Hamilton High School. Potential members of the association must be nominated and sponsored by a peer who is a current member, according to the association.
The inductee also must demonstrate a high level of experience, excellent moral character and quality of musicianship, the association said.
Epperson, a graduate of Ooltewah High School, began her career with Hamilton County Schools as band director at Central High School. She joined the staff at East Hamilton when it opened in 2009.
She also serves as chair of the Hamilton County School District’s all-county honor band event every February.
